Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information ClipWright ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use the Service, and how we use it.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to: provide and operate the Service, including video editing, export, and publishing you request; authenticate your account; process billing; and diagnose and fix technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your video content or connected-account data to train AI models or for advertising.

3. Publishing to connected platforms

When you connect a third-party account and choose to publish a video, we send that video and the metadata you provide (such as a title, description, or caption) directly to that platform's API, using the access token it issued to us. We only do this when you initiate the publish action — never automatically or in the background.

You can disconnect a platform account at any time from within the Service. Disconnecting deletes the stored access and refresh tokens for that platform from our systems, and we also attempt to revoke the token with the platform itself.

4. Google user data and data protection

When you connect a Google account (for sign-in, or to publish to YouTube), ClipWright accesses, uses, and stores the following Google user data: your Google account's basic profile information (for sign-in, via Firebase Authentication), and, if you connect YouTube, an OAuth access/refresh token scoped narrowly to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload — the minimum scope that lets us publish a video you export to your own YouTube channel. We do not request or receive access to any other Google data (email content, files, contacts, calendar, etc.).

Protection mechanisms specific to this data:

Limited Use disclosure: ClipWright's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data solely to provide the user-facing YouTube publishing feature described above; we do not use it to train AI or ML models, we do not serve ads with it, and we do not sell or transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide that feature at your request.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) and Google Cloud infrastructure. We apply access controls so that connected-account tokens and uploaded content are only accessible to your authenticated account and to the backend processes needed to run the Service.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete uploaded projects from within the Service. If you delete your account, we delete your stored content and connected-platform tokens within a reasonable period.

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate ClipWright: Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication, storage, hosting infrastructure), Stripe (payment processing), and Google Gemini (AI features such as hashtag suggestions). If you connect a platform account, that platform (e.g., YouTube, TikTok) processes the content you choose to publish under its own privacy policy.

8. Your choices

You can access, edit, or delete your content from within the Service, and disconnect any connected platform account at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
